class with guided kadampa meditations - kadampa buddism in prague

The classes include one or two guided meditations and a practical teaching on how to apply the ancient wisdom of Buddha’s teachings to busy modern life, with many inspiring insights, to help bring more peace and meaning into your daily life.

You can simply drop in whenever you like as each class is self-contained. Classes are held in English, we offer Czech translation. 

The Meditation drop-in class introduces basic Buddhist view, meditation and action, along with various other teachings and practices, all within the Mahayana Buddhist tradition of Atisha and Je Tsongkhapa, to help practitioners deepen their knowledge and experience of Buddhism. All the teachings are based on commentaries by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso.

Everyone is welcome regardless of belief; you do not need to be Buddhist to attend.

Resillience is your inner power of resistance. With it you can overcome setbacks, get back on your feet and gain new courage for life. Learn meditations that help you to do this. Empathy is your ability to empathize. It is your very inner being; your connectedness with other living beings and your environment. Learn meditations to help you identify with this good heart. Creativity is the function of your mind. An inner calmness and concentration allows negative influences to roll off and shows you what to do. Learn meditations that give you clarity.

Everybody welcome! The course is open to everyone, no previous experience is necessary.

Kelsang Gyudzhin

Kelsang Gyudzhin – a German Buddhist monk, has been studying and practising Buddha’s teachings within the Kadampa Tradition for more than twenty years and is Resident Teacher at the Kadampa Meditation Centre Dresden. He participates in the STTP, a world-wide teacher training programme of the New Kadampa Tradition. Gyudzhin is widely respected for his good heart and calm nature.

The course will be live streamed from Kadampa Meditation Center Dresden – Available via any modern webbrowser. We use BBB for live streaming (instead of zoom).

HOW TO ACCESS?

After booking first a confirmation email will be sent. Then secondly the live stream link will be sent with a separate Email automatically 15min before the session starts. At that time you will also find your livestream link in your account of our booking system “Fitogram” (in case your email gets lost.)

Livestream Pass (1 month) includes the weekly english meditation class on Tuesday 18:00 – 19:00, and the extra meditation class that takes place on a Sunday 16:30 – 18:00 every 2-3 months.

No single tickets available. (due to the monthly costs for the live stream service – We ask for your understandig)

Option 1: guest booking – you enter your email address and use paypal (or credit card) as only payment option. After this you receive an Email with streaming link. No account will be needed. More details are explained, when clicking “easy booking”.

Option 2: booking with registration/login – you enter your email address AND password to create an account or log in. More payment options are available. The streaming link will be sent 15min before the session and will be available/visible in your account at that time.

The Teacher - Kelsang Gyudzhin

Kelsang Gyudzhin
Kelsang Gyudzhin is a German Buddhist monk who has been studying and practising Buddha’s teachings within the Kadampa Tradition since 2002. He is the Resident Teacher at the Kadampa Meditation Centre Dresden and participates in the FTTP, a Germany-wide teacher training programme of the New Kadampa Tradition. 
 
Gyudzhin is widely respected for his good heart and calm nature. He is an inspiring example of a modern Buddhist monk, dedicated to helping everyone find inner peace and true happiness through Buddha’s timeless teachings and guidance on meditation.

What is Kadampa Buddhism?

Modern Kadampa Buddhism is a special presentation of Buddha’s teachings that is especially suited to the modern world. Everyone, even non-Buddhists, can benefit from this tradition. Discover how it can help you transform your life!

   The Kadampa Buddhism of the NKT-IKBU is an entirely independent Buddhist tradition and has no political affiliations. It is an association of Buddhist Centers and practitioners that derive their inspiration and guidance from the example of the ancient Kadampa Buddhist Masters and their teachings, as presented by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso.
